Meet Lisa

It all started when…

Ok look, we all have a photography origin story, and while I love that I started picking up the camera at age 2 (above) and my first camera of my own was a Kodak Instamatic - a flowergirl gift when I was 7 years old - let’s be real: what matters is what I’m doing now.

I’ve spent my time in the last decade exploring my new home in California (and venturing beyond), learning and acclimating to place while trying out various techniques and styles of photography.

These days, however, I am finding myself drawn to slower, less high-tech, and more intimate treatments and processes. I’m exploring techniques like gum bichromate printing and digital image transfers. I’m taking advantage of “the camera I have with me” instead of my beloved-but-heavy Sony. I’m exploring what I can do outside of the realm of perfection, embracing imperfections.

The new explorations will be up on this site soon; I’m still exploring what “done” means on these projects.

In the meantime, the projects I have shared here delight me every day, and I hope they do you as well.
